the big ::c::

(A drawing is coming, promise)

I haven't felt much like blogging lately. I wish I could say that I have been too busy (i have) or that I really didn't miss you (i did).  But I have had a cloud around me lately.  A very dear friend of mine was diagnosed one year ago with stage four ovarian cancer.  She was admitted into a hospice program a few weeks ago.  I wish you all knew her.  She is fabulous!  Strong and stubborn.  Sweet and still more than a bit of a smart ass.  She has kids that are 9 and 6.  She could be one of the coolest moms I have ever met.  And she is dying.

I have been sitting with her while her husband is at work about three days a week.  I don't have words for any of this.  Just sadness.  In no world is this fair.  I spend my days thanking God for every second I have with her and for every second I have with my own children.

Will you all do me a favor?  Pray for her.  Pray for her sweet family.  Pray for every minute and hour that she has left.  And pray for me will you?  That I can be strong when she is not.  That I can show grace when there is very little around.  She has taught me so much.

You are an angel. You will be blessed beyond all measure because of your sacrificial love for your friend. God has given you the greatest honor in tending to her body and soul.

I will definitely be in prayer for everyone.

When you get a chance please keep us posted.

Oh Heidi. That is so very hard. Particularly when there are young children. :-( It is a very kind thing you are doing, not many people are able to do that. I wish you and her peace in the coming days.

Heidi- I have been praying for her to feel no pain and just feel peace and I know you are one of the angels HE has sent to help her with that. Your friendship means so much to me and I know that it does to her as well. My prayers are with you two and both of your families.

I'm so sorry hear this, Heidi. We went through this with a friend three years ago and words just don't do it justice...

Oh Heidi, how tragic. My Heart and prayers go out to your friend and her family...and to you as well. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for all of you. My heart goes out to her children too. I wish I could somehow offer comfort but I know in this situation words are meaningless. I will offer you my prayers instead.

She is in God's hands. And we'll never understand. I lost my mom to OV CA, so I know the pain. I, in turn, had preventative surgery because of hi tests.
Trust and pray, my friend.
Love and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this Heidi - how kind of you to serve her in that way. Ryan lost his mother to ovarian cancer before I even had a chance to meet her. We will be participating in a benefit run for ovarian cancer research in a week and a half - I will be thinking of your friend. God bless.
