things that scare me

I am scared of what is in this box.

There really is no end of things that scare me. I am a happy go lucky person 99% of the time, but behind that there is always a part of me that is scared too death. Being a mom really brings this home. I never worried so much until Abby was placed into my hands for the first time. Terrifying and awesome all at the same time. Everyday I get to look into the eyes of my babes I count my blessings. They are all happy. They are all healthy. They all know how immensely I love them. And I know how quickly I could screw this whole thing up!!!! I resigned myself years ago to the fact that I would screw them up somehow. I'm just trying to keep it to a minimum.

But I'm scared of dumb stuff too. Like spiders. And that tupperware box of I-have-no-idea-what-that-was sitting in the fridge. And being late - to anything. And roller coasters. And heights. And my husband driving too fast. And someone randomly entering my house (I'm one of those who can't watch a scary movie before bed. Mid morning...I'm fine). I'm scared that I'm not being a good enough mother and wife. And snakes. And accidentally running over something with my lawnmower (don't worry it hasn't happened yet, but we have a crazy number of baby bunnies in our yard this year). I must sound neurotic. I probably am. Aren't we all? What are you scared of?

Oh...and I'm sacred of the serger my MIL is letting me borrow indefinitely.

Your post really made me smile :)

I think you are so healthy in your fears! I would be your fear twin!

Oh gosh, your MIL is so nice to let you borrow that Serger. Lucky lucky you.

I'm scared of most of the things you mention as well :)
I'm so jealous of your serger (not scared)!

I was pretty scared of my serger when it first came home. My late mother once told me a serger was "too much machine" for me. And I believed her. I love my mom but she was wrong. My serger is loud and there's a lot going on at once ... and I love it. Don't know how I ever sewed without it.

My hubby is still frustrated with me because I have yet to try and use the serger he bought me for my birthday, last November. Sergers scare me, but that apparently doesn't make sense to him, lol!

aaah, my cousin and I were just having a conversation about this! I think we all have those fears. Actually, I won't stay downstairs when it gets dark out if John is not home. I have no idea why that freaks me out!!

Good luck with the serger, it'll be a lot of fun!

I'm afraid of being in a fire! It's something that's been with me from childhood.

I have alot of those fears too. Roller coasters, not watching scary movies at night but I have a few other ones too. Being confined...driving on the highway...loosing my kids in a store...I could go on but I'll stop. :o)

That tupperware box of I-have-no-idea-what-that-was sitting in the fridge AT WORK thing scares me. Especially since I'm the only one with enough sac to clean the fridge out.

I used to clean the tupperware and leave it on the counter. Now it just goes in the trash.

totally normal fears.

just last night my fiance says oh i think someone is coming in the house. and of course no one was. i said to him "don't scare like that at night, do it during the day". how funny the night does bring certain fears out.

easy.
1. horses.
2. ferris wheels.

The #1 reason I let students aide for me is so that when I find a tupperware on the floor that used to have lasagna in it six months ago and now has who knows what...then my aide can take it and clean it. hmmm. is that mean?

and I am SO jealous of your serger.

It sounds like we have a lot in common - I'm scared of all those things too, but not the serger!

I'm scared of my serger too. A friend of mine gave me her mother's serger. I took it out of the box once, but that's it. I'm very, very afraid.

You will learn how to operate that thing and be rocking the serger in no time!

Those all sound like pretty normal fears to me! It is a huge responsiblity to raise kids--and I think we are all afraid that we may screw it up. You have the most important part down pat--you love them! And THAT'S what counts, and that is what they keep with them all their lives.
I had to laugh about the serger--I inherited one from my Mom when she died, and it sat there for about a month before I got up the nerve to thread it! I really love it, and I'll bet you will too. It's not that bad, just follow the book instructions on threading and thread it in the proper order. It's really fun to use, and you can sew so FAST with them! Yeah!

Wow, I am jealous! What a nice MIL to let you borrow that serger, even if you are scared of it:)

I have lots of fears too, so many that I am not going to list them or it would take up way too much space on your blog:)

I can really relate to your post. (btw, I hit a baby bunny with my lawnmower this summer and I only hurt it, so it had to suffer...freaked me out!)

My husband teases me (and maybe he's not too far off) that I worry that the paint will come off of the walls...yeah, I worry a lot. I can't watch scary movies at night either.

I think you're right, we are all a little neurotic!!! That's what makes us human. And being scared we'll mess up our kids, well thats what makes us Moms!!!

Fun Blog!!!
