i have no idea

...what it was that I planted last year.  I threw down a few packets of seeds.  They never really did much last year.  But boy howdy if they didn't take off this year!  However, I don't have the foggiest clue as to what I planted.  Mommy brain or something.  The top flowers are everywhere.  Just a million of them in the bed.  The flowers are so sweet and delicate.

Now this one is really confusing me.  The tallest stalk is nearly 5 feet.  The deep colored blooms just opened yesterday.  This is my secret garden.  Only because I never know what's going to come up!  Some of you are just masters at this stuff.  Please help!

Pretty! I think the tall ones are Hollyhocks, they come up every other year, probably why you didn't see them last year. Not sure what the other is. What a nice surprise. I have a ton of foxglove seeds (see Jack's blog for a photo) if you have a semi shady spot to fill. They're always pretty.

Heidi, I have the same little pink flowers. I thought I was sprinking some kind of ground cover seeds and I don't have a clue what they are. I actually had to pull some of them out so I could see my other flowers.

hmmm.... if they're as thick as Kathleen says, then I'd love to know what they are, I've got a bed I've had a hard time keeping weeds out of and need a dense fast growing ground cover.
Let me know when you find out!

The top photo looks just like pink evening primrose. It is a weed in my garden and I have yanked out many wheelbarrow-fulls this year!

It's an annual, but it will reseed and send runners.

Mine came from a packet of Texas wildflower seed, and it was the only thing that came up. Figures! ;o)

I also think the others look like hollyhocks.

Missouri primrose and hollyhocks. :) I planted the primrose a couple years ago, and it took off this year. It can be weedy, but I planted it in a spot where I don't care if it takes over.

Oops, evening primrose, not missouri primrose -- sorry. :)

I like the fact that these surprises require no green fingers.

I have no idea what any of them are, but they're lovely!

Heidi-

Give me a call-I need to pick your sewing brain-just picked up a gently used Bernina Activa 130 but it came without the users manual-and I am looking for a pretty fabric with dragonflies-less than a fat quarter. Cell is 5545154, home is 2715235.

A secret garden. I bet you can't wait for spring to see what pops their little heads up. Plus you don't have to worry about what to buy and where to put it.
No Stress gardening.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I posted another challenge. Your flowers are BEAUTIFUL. I've been working on our yard. It doesn't look pretty like yours, but hopefully it will next year. Nothing like beautiful flowers to make you smile!

Love the secret garden. I think Hollyhocks and evening primrose sound about right. I may have to go out and get some myself.

Yes, those are Evening Primrose. A friend of mine has them in her garden so I photographed them, which you can see by visiting my photo website. They are in the flower section. All your flowers are beautiful!
