cali wedding

And now I can finally post pictures of these quilts!!! I HAVE been crafting SEE!!! But prying eyes read this blog!

We finally made it home!!! Thanks for all of the well wishes and help in searching for my sanity. Let me tell you, a weekend at a five star resort and a whole day in a spa helped quite a bit. I have NEVER done anything like this! This wedding was insane. The food was to die for and I can't even begin to tell you about the wedding itself. The view in the picture below...yup that is the wedding site. Overlooking the ocean. The entire length of the aisle was covered in red and orange rose petals. Stunning. We had our makeup done by a professional artist from Hollywood and our hair was done by the same guy that did Princess Diana's hair for 15 years. Totally spoiled. I will likely never see the likes of any of those things again, but it was an amazing ride. The quilts above were their wedding gifts. There is a fierce rivalry between the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas. Longest west of the Mississippi. Cris is from Missouri and my beloved Nat is from here in Kansas. I added a strip of Kansas fabric to his and a strip of Missouri to hers. They loved them.

And of course a trip like this couldn't be perfect. I had an earache yesterday that spread down my jaw line. Went to the dentist this morning to find out I have three - yes three - abscessed molars. They were fractured by my wisdom teeth and my former dentist failed to realize that. So in the past year I have been festering these dang teeth. Out they go tomorrow. In come some implants. Sigh. Keep me in your prayers ya'll.

Wow, that wedding sounds absolutely amazing. Glad to hear you got some well deserved pampering!

Love the quilts. How clever and sweet of you to include their rival teams!

I'll also be spending a portion of tomorrow in the dentist's chair. Wish I could crochet or read or do something besides sit there with every muscle in my body tensed.

OK, the wedding looked beautiful; the spa sounds amazing; hair & makeup by professionals - seriously?; those darned teeth...BUMMER!! I pray for you my dear.

Why is it that when something so awesome happens to us, it is torn down by something horrible? Murphy's Law maybe?

I guess you can dream of the beautiful times while you are getting teeth ripped out.

Hey...I'm here for ya, babe! What's fam for?

Oh no! I'm in the middle of an implant process. Tooth was pulled in the spring, and the surgery to put the steel post in my jawbone is this Friday. But the biggest pain is financial: $3,000 not covered by insurance. Ouch!

Hey I just realized that I typed "home" when I meant "time." I thought I proofread.

Hope you're well!

The bride and groom must have adored those quilts; they are beautiful.

I hope your dental surgery is over by this time and that you're doing okay. The dentist no doubt gave you some nice pain meds. Don't be afraid to take them. Pain isn't noble.

I wish someone would have made me a quilt for my wedding. I did get cow dishtowels though and a crystal clock with a deer on it. Only in Wisconsin, only in Wisconsin....
